About Farukolhu

Farukolhu is a small, close-knit island community in Nuvaani Atoll, home to around 1,200 residents. Fishing, tourism services and small commerce form the backbone of the island economy.

The Farukolhu Island Council is an elected body of five members responsible for local governance: public services, island development, community wellbeing and the stewardship of island land and lagoon resources.
